I've really gotten back into 1/64 scale diecasts, like with a fervor that has my wife going, "I thought this was supposed to be cheap?" They connect me to a part of my youth that only existed in shades - I had toy cars, but never was I encouraged to embrace my early gear head as my mother raised me as a single parent - but now, as an adult, I'm free to spend my allowance (shut up, you'd understand if you were married!) on toys fit for a kid because, truthfully, I'm a big kid at heart who never grew up.
I discovered that modifying Hot Wheels etc is/was a thing and now I'm getting ready to launch into that but, and here's the important part, I'm not a collector... at least not in the traditional sense. Why? Because I don't want to keep 'em in blister packages, I want to get 'em out and put some miles on 'em. Furthermore, I want to take 'em apart and rebuild, repaint and generally re-do 'em.
It's a sickness, but I'm okay with that and despite my many japes at married life, it's one my wife fully supports as it's more-or-less affordable and an outlet for future play-time with our kid. They're toys to be played with, plain and simple. That's just me, and I respect the hell out of you virgins out there with walls plastered by Hot Wheels in their original packaging on mislabeled cards and so on.
Aaaaanyway, just yesterday I discovered the Hot Wheels Exchange Program having spent the past couple months discovering that there are a lot of like-minded souls stalking the halls of Oppo with Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, Green Light, Maisto and Tomica (and Welly etc) collections of varying purpose and intensity.
In that moment of fresh faced discovery, I found these two gems up for trade from GRawesome and I hopped all over it.
This yellow Datsun first caught my eye as I'm trying to find more casts of classic Japanese cars (which I fully plan on modding to pimpness once I get my eye in on some cheaper MB's):
Next up, in chatting with the awesomesauceMcAwesomeGRawesome, he mentioned he had pretty much the most desirable cast I could think of, a Toyota Celica from 1970:
In return, I'm shipping off two of the cars from this collection of Trade-friendly cars; the Lancia and the gold Viper -
The shipping process begins tomorrow, on both ends, and relies upon the trust shared between Gentlemen and Opponauts and we'll follow up with Stage Two of this awesome exchange when the goodies arrive.
Thanks, GRawesome and thanks Opponauts for generally being the most kick ass group of people of ever in history times of all!

Yo dawg, I heard you like Japanese cars, so I put some Japanese cars on your Japanese cars.
Those are part of the permanent collection, but I found these two extras if you are interested :)
Let me know and we can talk about trades. The next picture is just my favorite car, probably the prize of my collection so I want to show it off:
Oppo is a haven for HW collectors, welcome.

First, I also have that Boulevard Edition BMW M3 and I love it with a passion. I also have the Boulevard Hako Skyline, and it's about my favorite HW cast ever.
I'm trying to build out some Japanese need in my collection, though, and I pretty much just fapped to your pics.
I'm picking up one of the Datsun's from GRawesome but I don't have a Supra and want one!
Also, the white one next to the Celica with the Civic, what is?

White car is a 280Z racecar. That one is also for trade, it's an extra. The Datsun and RX-7 in box are also for trade. I really want the Boulevard Datsun wagon, but the Boulevard series are hard to find. Do you have a hookup on another boulevard Skyline? I'd send you all three of the cars I have for trade :)

No :(
I keep on looking, but I haven't found another one. If I didn't have such a crazy crush on that car, I'd completely send it your way. What I'm gonna do though, Rex, is keep looking for one for yah. I've got contacts with a handful of local collectors who're always selling their stuff off to buy more and I'll put the word out. It's on me, if I find one. Just, maybe remind me this weekend if you think of it?
What do you want for the 280Z? All of the ones pictured are for trade with the Stratos and Viper already plucked. I have some other goodies that I'd be willing to trade off for that Z car if none of the above are to your liking.
Note; I've just started getting back into collecting so I don't have a large trade resource yet. Still, let me know what'cha'yer'thinkin?

I'll take the 510!

I'm partial to German things, select Italians, wagons, hot hatches, etc...production cars. None of the ones you have caught my eye, but I can also ship cars for $2.50 for 1-2 cars, $3-4 for more than that.
The hard part is I have most every car I want from the past three years. If you have any line on any boulevards, I have quite a few I'm looking for...the 510 wagon, fiesta, GNX, 993, fun stuff like that.

I am glad you have welcomed the exchange into your life! I have been working on collecting Japanese cars as well and love what has been coming out! I actually traded for that white cobra daytona in the first picture....it's a small world lol. I have sent a BMW to Texas which then went to Boston I believe.

Strictly Hot Wheels? Or do you look at other brands, too?
And on the topic of shipping cars; how do you accept payment? I only ask because if I can't find anything you like in what I have, I'll completely buy. I really, really want that Z and, if you're trading any, a Supra.
I'm going to take a picture of my entire collection (small and unpackaged as it is) tonight or ASAP and post that because even of the ones I want to keep, I'm a motivated trader for those two Japs.
Truth be told, if you wanted another BMW M3 (the BOULEVARD edition) out of the blister, I'd ship you mine for both of those. (Rubber wheels, metal on metal baby!)
Oh, I have a picture of it but it's exactly the same I think?

I feel like Oppo HWEP cars should be coded, so we can check where they move around to.
